Aus Acu is excited to release our Cosmetic Acupuncture program, launching first at our Gold Coast clinic.
Our practitioners have completed specialised training in fine skin needling and anti-aging techniques, and Aus Acu is proud to be releasing these industry leading treatments and setting a new standard in natural, skin enhancing Acupuncture treatments. Cosmetic Acupuncture is a natural alternative to enhancing health, well-being and radiating wellness from the inside out.
Relaxing & Energising
Our Cosmetic Acupuncture Program runs for one full month, and includes your Initial Assessment, and then twice-weekly full treatments for four weeks. Remember – you are receiving twice weekly acupuncture treatments PLUS your full Cosmetic Acupuncture Treatment twice per week!
Whilst Acupuncture is commonly used for internal health conditions, Acupuncture is now gaining popularity as a treatment for skin conditions such as acne, dermatitis, and to assist with blood flow and collagen production for anti-aging.
The techniques used are similar to regular Acupuncture except a little gentler, as we are working with the delicate skin of the face. We work with the same Meridian (energy) lines which we use when treating the body, however we also use points which target muscles, fine lines and help stimulate blood flow to the skin.
The finest single-use Japanese needles are used, which are Silicon-coat to reduce sensation and irritation to the skin. These are gently inserted at specific Acupuncture points to increase blood flow to your face, and retained for up to twenty minutes.
Whether you are concerned about blemishes/hormonal acne, anti-aging or just looking to enhance your skin by getting your overall health back on track, Aus Acu offers facial treatments either singularly or in a treatment package.
Singular treatments may be suitable for those wishing to indulge in the ultimate relaxation and will help with immediate benefits, however our packages are the most popular way our patients enjoy facial treatments. Packages also include bonuses such as facial masks, massage and Chinese Herbal supplements.
Cosmetic Acupuncture works to naturally bring back long-lasting, radiant, youthful skin whilst aiming to lift and firm areas without surgery, injections or side effects. Treatments may help by stimulating muscle contraction, boosting collagen growth and accelerating nutrient rich blood flow. Results will depend on your own skin, your history and your personal discipline. Please follow all advise your practitioner dispenses during your treatment to ensure your results are as effective as possible.
Skin Needling works more superficially on the skin and is quite similar in nature to exfoliation. Acupuncture penetrates much deeper as we are licensed to use Acupuncture needles rather than just a derma-roller. There may be times when skin-needling is more suitable for your skin, particularly if you are looking for heavy scar reduction or deep exfoliation. Skin needling typically uses many small needles which are ‘rolled’ ove the dermis, whereas Acupuncture needles are used singularly in specific locations.
We will always discuss your options during your initial consultation and help answer any questions here in the clinic to make sure you completely understand the treatment prior to each session.
A 1996 report in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture reported that among 300 cases treated in China with cosmetic facial acupuncture 90% had marked effects with one course of treatment. Effects included: increased elasticity, reduction of wrinkles and overall rejuvenation and positive results reflected throughout their body.
A 2013 issue of the Journal of Evidence-Based Complementary & Alternative Medicine regarding “the effect of facial cosmetic acupuncture on facial elasticity” – concluded that the treatment showed – “promising results as a therapy for facial elasticity”.
